A thought about pre-grieving

Last night I was doing one of my favorite things at the end of a long cold day. I was taking a bubble bath and reading magazines.
I read an article about when a pet you love dearly gets a grim diagnosis. I read about one thought that could change everything.
I realized this can also pertain to our loved ones with terminal diagnosis.
The person in the article got a terminal diagnosis for her beloved dog.
She asked “how do I avoid wasting what time we have left pre grieving?”
Her friend said that when her beloved golden doodle was dying she would sit with him and say to herself, “But I have you now.”
Just that one thought can change everything. I have you now….instead of pre-grieving. Changes your mindset to I’m going to make the most of what time is left.
